Screen capture is supposed to minimize your browser for you. However, in Internet Explorer, we only have the ability to send the window to the background. Thus you must have another window open in order to capture it. It doesn’t really let you capture just a screenshot of your empty desktop.
If, however, you have other windows open, then there is a problem. It may be caused by using a non-standard browser, or by changing security settings.
You may want to try using Firefox if you are using IE, or vice versa.
