So Adam has been helping me out with my powerpoint issues. Here’s what I’ve learned:
1. Tab spaces cannot be used as they will disappear when you upload the ppt.
2. The only fonts Vyew supports are Arial or Times New Roman. However, letters with macrons still appear oversized, so I use Cambria which seems to have fewer problems.
3. Backgrounds have to be a solid color or can’t contain complex graphics. Otherwise, when you resize, the images stretch out and become grainy.
Conclusions: I guess I can’t complain since Vyew is a free service, but as an online Latin teacher, I have had major headaches designing my powerpoints to work on Vyew. It would be nice if my powerpoints would appear exactly as I see them in Microsoft Powerpoint. I know other web-conferencing software can even do slide animations. This is probably the only thing that is keeping me from becoming a paid user.
All the other features and the whiteboard are great.
